Características:
ProP® is a phosphorous fertilizer, treated with a polymer with a high capacity for cationic exchange, which increases the availability of P in the soil once it has been applied, and allows it to reach deeper into the ground.
- It reduces phosphorus fixation in the soil during the first months of cultivation, improving its overall efficiency.
- It enhances phosphate mobilization in the soil. By having a greater distribution, it allows P to reach the roots more extensively, maximizing its absorption.
- It has a higher efficiency in the absorption of P, therefore needing less applications of fertilizer.
- It stimulates root development and aerial growth during early growing stages.
It makes phosphorus available during the last growth stage, when water is less available in surface soils. The residual phosphorus remains in the rooting zone and is available for deeper roots to absorb it, providing an adequate supply of nutrients and boosting performance.
When phosphorous fertilizers are applied without the protection provided by SQMC's ProP®, they only achieve an efficiency of 10 to 25%, because P fixation by ions of Ca (in calcareous soils) and of Al / Fe (in acid soils) largely decrease the availability of soluble phosphates for plant uptake and prevent P mobilization in the soil, which is a key factor for effective nutrition.
Thanks to the large size and negative charge of the ProP® molecule, it bonds to molecules with positive charges in the soil, such as calcium, aluminum or manganese, generating a barrier between these elements and the phosphate, allowing the P nutrient to be more available for the plant, thus, increasing its efficiency in the soil.
The ProP® molecule is biodegradable, non-toxic to humans, animals, or aquatic and terrestrial plants.
